Membrane and silicone construction

A typical membrane stack-up includes a graphic overlay, spacer, dome or non-tactile switch layer, printed circuit, optional backlight layer, EMI or ESD shielding, seal, and connector tail. It suits slim panels, wipe-down fascias, instrumentation, and medical or industrial control surfaces.

A silicone rubber keypad uses a molded elastomer keymat with raised keys, tuned actuation force, conductive contacts, optional coating, and a PCB interface. It suits glove use, outdoor controls, rugged handhelds, and high-touch equipment where operators need clear tactile feedback.
